I have been using the Velvet Vape BoroPad condensation plugs in a couple of my Billet Boxes for a few months now and they work great. Even though I don’t go through the proper procedure to get a good seal, they do well. I tried doing a video live the other day, but I was attempting to use it around a Nord coil base. It worked and still does its job but it bulges a little because of the size of the Nord coil’s base, but again, it still works. I normally don’t use condensation plugs because I use Mums Boros most of the time, but when I use stock Billet Box Boros, I use these now that Project Paragon is gone. Now that I have used them, I probably wouldn’t go back to standard condensation plugs.
Velvet Vape is a manufacturing company of vape products based in Athens, Greece. They have several products for the Billet Box: The BoroPad we are talking about here, as well as the Unilink (EUC coils) and Nautilink (Nautilus/Triton mini coils) Billet Box bridges. With all the hype about EUC coils again, I might have to try out the Unilink at some point. I never had luck with EUC coils in the past. They also have a line of pins for MTL vaping with several types of coils, called Multipins.
Velvet Vape BoroPad
The BoroPad itself is a silicone plug that comes with round, cotton pads. It is very similar to what you see with the plug that comes with the VapeSnail. In addition, they have airflow reducers that plug into the base. I don’t use these because I want as much air as I can get, but if you want to reduce it to a tighter draw, the package comes with 2.0mm, 2.5mm, 3.0mm, and 3.5mm inserts for the regular version and 1.0mm, 1.2mm, 1.5mm, and 1.8mm inserts for the MTL version.
It would be great to see other colors in the future, at least white.
There is not a ton to say, but they work!
Check out the demonstration video from Velvet Vape on YouTube because I can’t embed it here due to age restrictions.
Velvet Vape BoroPad Details
Boropad (Stardard Version, there is also a MTL version – the main difference is the airflow reducer sizes.)
The Boropad is the most advanced application you can find around, in order to drastically minimize any condensations at the back and lower section of your Boro tank, plus at the same time dial in your airflow. A custom silicone food grade plug seals off the air path from the boro nest, not allowing condensations to circulate unhindered. Unlike other plugs out there, the use of silicon ensures proper sealing function and takes one step further from filling the empty space at the bottom of the Boro with a rigid part (plastic, 3D printed, or anything similar). Its sealing function is supported by the absorbent pad (highly absorbent semi-synthetic fabric custom-made pad), which absorbs any condensations piling up inside the air channel. Small plastic inserts are conveniently placed inside a properly designed nest, dialing in your airflow in the most accurate way. In the case of standard Boropad, you can swap among four different inserts, targeted for loose MTL, restricted DL, and DL vaping, with airflow surface equal to a hole of diameter 2.0mm, 2.5mm, 3.0mm, and 3.5mm, likewise engraved on their top side. The Boropad is compatible with the Billet Box and any Boro compatible AIO device *with similar airflow intake* (sideways).
