Throwback Thursday: The BlackFlip
I was checking out some history of Billet Box and was looking at some of the listings on the Billet Box Vapor in past years and found one of the elusive Dead Flipper boxes they offered back then, in particular, the one they called BlackFlip. It was a blacked-out 40 watt model with a stainless steel button with a Dolphin etched on the body on the button side. The price was a whopping $604.33. I also found an archived version of the shop on April 27, 2016, and the price for the FawkesFlip and BlackFlip was $999.97!!!! I am not sure that those prices were accurate. There is no doubt about two things, BBV has a sense of humor and they dislike(d) flippers. On this same Saturday, they also offered PooFlip with SS, FawkesFlip with Naval Brass button, and KürbFlip.
READ THIS AGAIN: Flip off….. Soooo, some people have more money than others… that’s fine… but we are tired of people buying our reasonably priced stock trying to make a quick buck… we’ll do it ourselves, add a button that isn’t in production yet and throw in an engraved dead freaking dolphin… is it worth it? NOPE!!!… Not to a lot of people… the dead dolphin is not special, the new buttons will be in production soon… the bottom line, this price is just you not having to play the F5 game for something we work really hard on and that is very desirable at the moment… as this offering is entirely to help limit flipping, there are ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS or Returns on this Box. These Dead Dolphin boxes are made based on a percentage of boxes reported flipped, (that number is down a few percent from launch), and priced on a sliding scale to LOWER the ability of flippers to profit. We do not like doing this… but it’s working…
